The senior group of ‘Pyles’ within the suburbs of Austin on website by prime chef from Texas

A new senior community coming to Georgetown will be showcasing a variety of dining concepts led by an award-winning chef known as the founding father of modern Texan cuisine.

The Georgetown Hacienda, a senior lifestyle community located on 13 acres near Sun City’s south entrance, is expected to open in late 2022. At the head of the four restaurants in the community is the famous chef Stephan Pyles, who in his impressive career of four decades has received almost every culinary award and distinction.

James Beard Award-winning Pyles is a fifth generation Texan who has opened 23 restaurants in six different cities over the past 32 years. The move marks the region’s first gourmet restaurant to be located in a senior community, and as a culinary destination, it will be open to the public.

In addition to designing all aspects of the restaurant, Pyles will also set the direction for the three other restaurants yet to be defined in the community, including developing the concepts, menus, presentations and kitchen designs for each restaurant. Pyles also plans a number of special on-site events, including cooking demos and wine nights.

“Food brings us together like nothing else, shapes our memories and strengthens our communities,” says Pyles. “Food really crosses all boundaries and feeds our lifelong need for discovery, which is an essential element for a long and healthy life. I am particularly looking forward to being part of the property’s innovative communal restaurant, which will be a welcome addition to the city. It will be a new opportunity to bring Georgetown residents of all ages together to gather around, dine well, and create new memories under one roof. “

Owned by the Élan Collection of Watermark Retirement Communities in Tucson, the 230-unit luxury retirement community now for rent aims to “nurture vibrancy and longevity through a robust suite of programs and amenities, including a purpose-built amphitheater in the Outdoor and a fully equipped wellness center with a salon, spa, club rooms, fitness center, theater, meditation garden and a luxurious resort-like pool with cabanas. “The addition of several restaurants run by the influential chef will no doubt raise the community to a prestigious stature that is not often found in senior housing facilities.

“A seamless and extraordinary lifestyle is a hallmark of the Watermark experience, and the Georgetown Hacienda will be no exception,” said David Freshwater, chairman of Watermark Retirement Communities. “We are excited to add The Hacienda at Georgetown to our prestigious Élan collection and to open the community with one of Texas’ most famous chefs at the helm. Chef Pyles will continue to improve the daily lives of our residents and create an effective relationship between our property and the Georgetown community. “
